After 4 months off of being lazy I have restarted work. I write this retrospectively & if I could go back I would say do this bit even better then I did.
Next time I would do the templates in a cheap foam, put a glass skin one them/laminate in one section & then re fit & fine tune.
Laminating the hull skins was easy enough, I went with 200gsm Carb DBL bias aft of the chain plates at 45 & 135 degree’s & 200gsm Carb Tow at 0 & 90 degrees for the outer skin. Inner skin will be the same orientation/cloth but in 100gsm Carb. Foam used is 5mm CorecellM80 everywhere except forward of the chainplates chine to the keel where I (in the end) used 4mm Divincell 100 KG/m3 as the 3mm CorecellM80 was too stiff.
The photo above shows the topside panel which was laminated both sides, I put extra re enforcing here for strength which put a hard point in the panel & thus a flat spot which shows up in the chine/fairing. I would put any extra re enforcing under the X bulkhead next time.
